Pearl Jam provides earplugs at concerts
Concertgoers will be offered earplugs before Pearl Jam’s shows in order to protect their sense of hearing. “Don’t be careless and lazy at loud rock shows or cranking tunes through an old Walkman like I was 30 years ago,” said bass player Jeff Ament.
The band of singer Eddie Vedder collaborates with the enterprise MusiCares to this end. Visitors receive the ear plugs in exchange for a donation to a good cause. The promotion is a result of the tour of AC/DC being cancelled this week on account of the threatening acute deafness of singer Brain Johnson, music magazine NME reports.
